Today was definitely a Cut day!!

As you see from the pictures below I have a 9 year old, who has individuals. The problem with individuals of this length on a 9 year old is that, the little diva starts to surface. They start swinging and swirling there hair around and walking around the house as if they are the QUEEN!! not the position they actually possess, which is the Princess (Mommy is always the Queen) and yes they are pretty little ladies but come on LOL !!!, So you have to take them down a few pegs. So what did I do? I cut the braids. By doing so the attitude as changed and I have the lil princess back. See the picture above.

Doing a 2 year old's hair

Doing a two year old's may frighten many of you, but for me, it is just another persons hair to get done. I have been doing both my daughter's hair since they were brought home from the hospital. I have discovered that if you   make brushing and combing of the hair part of your daily routines from birth, it is something that the child becomes a custom to getting done. I started by cradling the my child and my lap and gently brushing the hair, this allow not only the time to get them familiar with grooming time but also helped to develop a bonding and trusting relationship. As the years followed, I would put them in my lap still but I would give them something to entertain them while I complete there hair and after bathes I would take out the pigtails and brush and comb the hair while we watch a cartoon before bedtime. Now that my youngest child is two, she understands that getting her hair done is something that part of her day. There are days when she test me but I have to be strong and remind her that she can get up when is have completed.
